The player must spend the following year pursuing the goal of being reelected to a second term while also handling issues such as Vietnam, the civil rights movement, and a personal investigation into the assassination attempt. In Reelect JFK, the player takes the role of President Kennedy in an alternate history in which he survived the assassination attempt. Nevertheless, the assassination has proven to be inspiration for more than one video game in and of itself. However, these theories have been debunked.
